New 2014-2020 programme for promoting solidarity as a value mainly through volunteering to enhance the engagement of young people and organisations in accessible and high quality solidarity activities as a means to contribute to strengthening cohesion and solidarity, democracy and citizenship in Europe. It will contribute to European cooperation relevant to young people. This will give over 100 000 young Europeans the opportunity to engage in solidarity activities.

This fund is a framework programme, organised in different strands (sub-programmes)

?A framework programme is an umbrella structure intended to serve various funding schemes (strands / sub-programmes). Each strand includes specific themes and funding rules.

Grants for project aiming at creating opportunities for young people to volunteer or work in projects in their own country or abroad, that benefit communities and people around Europe.

Does my project meet the priority requirements of this fund?

The European Solidarity Corps programme was created in 2018 as a complement to the Erasmus + actions to contribute to social cohesion of the European youth.

* Enhancing the engagement of young people and organisations in accessible and high-quality solidarity activities;
* Strengthening cohesion, solidarity, democracy and citizenship in Europe;
* Responding to societal challenges;
* Strengthening communities, with a particular focus on promoting social inclusion;
* Contribute to those aspects of European cooperation that are relevant to young people

* Response to environmental and climate challenges (excluding immediate disaster
response) 20;
* Projects building inclusive societies including through bridging the intergenerational
and social divide or addressing challenges linked to geographical remoteness21;
* Projects aimed at improving mental health and well-being

Structure of the programme
* The European Solidarity Corps;
* The Contribution from Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM);
* The Contribution from the LIFE sub-programme for Climate Action;
* The Contribution from the LIFE subprogramme for Environment

Among financed actions
* Volunteering;
* Traineeships and jobs;
* Solidarity projects;
* Networking activities;
* Quality and support measures.

* Projects will usually be located within the European Union Member States
* Participating organisations must be located in a participant country or a partner country of the programme
