The region of Puglia, southern Italy, receives 67.5 million euros from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for the modernization of the railway line connecting the port of Taranto with the Port from Bari.

In addition to promoting an environmentally friendly means of transport, this EU-funded project will boost tourism and trade in southern Italy by reducing travel times for passengers and goods, while providing enhanced security for the traffic.
