The Life DinAlp Bear project is co-financed by the LIFE programme and aims to manage the population level and conservation of brown bears in northern Dinaric Mountains and the Alps. Within this project, a guidebook has been published to promote the co-existence between humans and brown bears.

Text:

This guide entitled “A Guidebook to Human-Carnivore Conflict” aims at providing advice and practical tips to improve an effective communication and to build partnerships between the people living and working in areas with large carnivores. The goal is to enable a better conservation and management of populations of brown bears in areas that have been modified by humans. Through this guidebook, written by Dr.Seth Wilson a technical advisor to the project, he tries to convince people that positive working relationships among wildlife managers, local communities and other stakeholders are beneficial to prevent and reduce human-carnivore conflict.
The guidebook is available in five languages (Slovenian, English, Croatian, Italian and German) and is available online.
