Cohesion Fund mobilised in favour of Croatian water infrastructure

Town planning, Health, Environment,-,

News The Croatian agglomeration of Split-Solin will benefit from 128 million euro from the Cohesion Fund to ensure better access to quality drinkable water and to facilitate waste water treatment.

Aimed at modernising water supply and wastewater treatment infrastructure, the project will provide 4,000 people with access to high-quality drinkable water and over 25,000 people with adequate wastewater treatment.

In addition to the environmental benefits, the upgrading of the water infrastructure will also help to boost the local economy by increasing the attractiveness of tourism, which is the region's main economic activity. The project will bring the water infrastructure of the Split-Solin agglomeration in line with the EU Directives on water, drinkable water and urban wastewater.
