Text:

According to the Eurostat report published on November 16th 2016, the duration of working life has increased between 2005 and 2015 in the European Union. Indeed, the duration jumped from 33,5 to 35,4 years in average which means 1,9 year in addition.

However, European countries did not face the same growth and strong disparities remain. Indeed, the average duration of working life in Italy is 30,7 years, versus 41,2 years in Sweden. France is just below the average with 39,4 years.
Furthermore, if the duration of working life increased so much, it is mainly because of the women : their average duration of working life increased twice more than men.
