Text:

Based on discussions at the level of the Council of the EU and a public consultation held by the European Commission, the mid-term review of the Europe 2020 strategy will be debated by the European Council in March 2015.

This conference will present evidence and political recommendations made by the European Committee of the Regions with regard to a territorial perspective and their translation into a “blueprint” for a renewed Europe 2020 strategy.

The conference offers to EU regional and local authorities the opportunity to voice their concerns, experiences and suggestions on how to make Europe 2020 deliver in a more coherent governance setting. Contributions and debates will address two themes:

– After the stock-taking: what are the lessons learned from the mid-term review of the Europe 2020 strategy?
– Moving forward: how to better involve all levels of government in the delivery of the strategy and the European Semester between 2015 and 2020?
