On Wednesday, June 18,  the European House of French local authorities (Maison européenne des pouvoirs locaux français) holds a seminar intitled “European cimate and energy policies: which role and opportunities for local authorities”?.

The seminar will be hosted in Paris with the presence of Connie HEEDEGARD, the EU Commissioner for Climate Action, and Segolene ROYAL, the French Minister for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy.

What role will French local and regional authorities play in the future EU policies on energy transition? While Member States are negotiating the objectives of the next climate and energy package, the adoption of which is scheduled in October 2014, members of the MEPLF associations wished to bring the various key actors of these policies together to collectively address the issue of local authorities involvement in the implementation of these policies, highlight their specificities, and summarize the best available instruments and European funding opportunities to support their efforts on energy transition.

The seminar is jointly organised with the Association of Mayors of France, the Assembly of the departments of France, the Association of Small Towns of France, the Association of Mayors of major cities in France and the Federation of towns.

Mandatory free registration on (first-come, first-served basis).
The seminar is primarily intended for local elected officials and local/regional authorities technicians.
