A week starting well! The European Parliament adopted not less than three 2021-2027 ProgrammesMay 19, 2021
Hat: This Tuesday 18th May, the MEPs adopted the new 2021-2027 edition of ERASMUS+, European Solidarity Corps and Creative Europe new edition Programmes
- ERASMUS+ Programme
The new Erasmus+ worth more than 26 billion EUR in current prices, will be significantly more inclusive than previous programmes. It will improve access to learning and mobility for people who historically have had fewer opportunities to participate – people living with a disability, people living in poverty, in a remote location, people with a migration background, and more. Compared to the previous Erasmus+, the new programme will expand to support mobility for students in adult education.
- European Solidarity Corps
Previously covered by the ‘Youth’ section of Erasmus+, the European Solidarity Corps 2021-2027 will have for the first time its own budget (worth more than 1billion Euros). The new programme features improvements to the insurance policy and health and safety guarantees covered by the programme, as well as increased requirements for hosts to ensure a meaningful learning experience for participants.
- Creative Europe
The new programme will invest 2.2 billion euro in the cultural and creative sectors, recognising the importance of culture and helping the sector recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. Apart from a 36% budget increase, MEPs have managed to secure more of a focus on inclusion and gender equality, as well as special support for contemporary and live music sectors that are among those hit hardest by the pandemic.
