The new fund given by the EU wil help the vulnerable population in Nigeria, Niger, Tchad and Cameroon.
The humanitarian crisis in the surrounding area of the Tchad lake, in Africa, which involves the areas of Nigeira, Niger, Tchad and Cameroon, keeps worsening because of the persistence of violence, insecurity and degradation of environment.
To help the most vulnerable population, the Commission has annouced an extra grant of 138 million euro that will be given to these four countries. The humanitarian aid, funded by ECHO will cover food and nutritional needs and will support activities of protection, access to basic healthcare and access to a roof. The EU will also support subsistence needs to help the people in rebuilding their life.
