The EU is launching new aid programs, providing € 23 million to improve people’s access to health services and livelihoods.
Most of the financial aid (European Development Fund – EDF) announced today (€ 20.6 million) will be dedicated to ensuring equitable access to quality health services for women and children. The goal is to reduce maternal mortality, halve stunting and reduce mortality among children under five.
In addition, a € 2.8 million program with the NGO “Save the Children” will help local organisations to improve the livelihoods of 15,000 young women and men.
