A €74.5 million investment from the ERDF has been launched in order to contribute to the expansion of the high-speed Internet network coverage in the Region of Brittany.

This investment from an EU funding is intended to supplement private-sector investments. It will contribute to the expansion of the network coverage: while in 2013, only 6,2% of the population of Brittany had access to high-speed Internet network, this proportion is expected to reach 68,4% by 2023. Without EU funding, this figure would have increased to 39,9%.

This project is in line with the “France Très Haut Débit” (France Very High-Speed Network) plan, which aims to an integral high-speed network coverage of the French territory. This plan is particularly significant for the development of rural areas in France.
