European funds : fighting against cancer in Martinique

In December 2020, the CHU of Martinique will be equipped with a state-of-the-art robot dedicated to the most delicate cancer surgeries. Financed by the Regional Health Agency, the CHU and by European funds, this robot will enable many patients to avoid having to travel to the metropolis to be treated.

As techniques change, the University Hospital Center of Martinique has decided to equip itself with a new generation robot for complex cancer operations.

This new machine will have very advanced technological options that will also be used for teaching, it will be positioned at the Maison de la Femme, de la Mère et de l’Enfant à la Meynard.

It will be used in particular to treat prostate cancers, which are particularly widespread in Martinique, but also for surgery for gynaecological cancers, certain thoracic cancers and endometriosis.
