An agreement between Crédit Agricole’s banks located in the New Aquitaine region, the New Aquitaine Region and the European Investment Fund (EIF) has been signed to create the ALTER’NA fund (Alternative in New Aquitaine).

This guarantee agreement will make it possible to mobilize nearly €100 million in bank loans for agricultural and agri-food companies in New Aquitaine over a three-year period.

These new loans to agriculture and agri-food target investment projects that meet the region’s challenges:
* Support for the transition of farms in the livestock and crop production sector
* Supporting the development of fruit and vegetable production under glass
* Support for on-farm processing and marketing: development of short circuits and creation of added value on farms
* Support for processing and marketing by agri-food companies in the context of organic farming projects
