What is this methodology sheet for?

The Logical Framework Approach (LFA) should be considered as an aid to reflection on the content of your project, allowing information to be analysed and organised in a structured way. The logical framework is expressed in the form of a table attached to the application form within the framework of external cooperation programmes. Other programmes also favour this approach such as INTERREG (European territorial cooperation) or the European Fund for Refugees (2008-2013). For external aid, the completed table (the logical framework matrix «logframe») is the result of a process of reflection and action planning, implemented following the approach known as the LFA. This methodological approach is applied by the European Commission and all organisations involved in the programming of funds (foreign aid in particular). Whilst the European Commission does not oblige project leaders to follow this method of designing and planning of their projects, the principles of this approach can still be found in many sections in document formats used in applications for external aid.
