In a difficult context marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, confidence in the European Union remains stable and Europeans believe that the Union will take the right decisions to deal with the pandemic in the future.
According to the new Standard Eurobarometer survey published today, European citizens consider the economic situation, the state of Member States’ public finances and immigration as the three main issues of concern at EU level. The economic situation is also the main concern at national level, followed by health and unemployment.
According to the new Eurobarometer survey conducted in July and August, concerns about the economic situation are reflected in the way the current state of the economy is perceived. 64% of Europeans think the situation is “bad” and 42% think their country’s economy will only recover from the negative impact of the pandemic “in 2023 or later”.
