Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To increase the participation and representation of women in the different sectors of the sustainable blue economy
  • To increase knowledge and collect data on women’s contribution to the sustainable blue economy so as to efficiently foster and mainstream gender equality
  • To promote women’s leadership, entrepreneurship and participation in governance structures and decision-making mechanisms of public and/or private organisations of the sustainable blue economy

Priorities

  • Priority 1: to mainstream and expand good practices and activities, from sectors where data is already available and actions have already been taken in terms of gender equality to sectors where data availability and actions are still limited
  • Priority 2: ensure the widest possible geographical scope and involve partners across different sea basins

Among financed actions

  • Collect data and analyse data gaps – collect quantitative and qualitative data and evidence about participation and representation of women in the maritime sectors
  • Develop networking activities – bring together female representatives of several sectors of the blue economy with a view to increase their networking opportunities, knowledge sharing, visibility, possibility to inspire and mentor
    other women and promote working environment offering equal opportunities
  • Support women’s leadership and entrepreneurship in the sustainable blue economy through targeted actions
  • Identify existing good practices and assess their scalability and transferability to spread them across blue economy sectors

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
  • Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 36 months

Eligibility

  • Be legal entities (public or private bodies)
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries
  • Consortium must be composed of minimum 3 independent entities from 3 different EU Member States
Financement
  • Total budget of the topic “Women in the Blue Economy”: 2.5 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 1 and 1.25 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: 90%
