Priorities and funded actions

Objectives 

  • To encourage people, in particular young people, to engage with Europe’s cultural heritage and to reinforce a sense of belonging to the European common space;
  • To identify and promote communities working with heritage in line with European values and with a long-term perspective of collaboration;
  • To provide additional funding to European Heritage Label sites to support the development of their European Heritage Label project;
  • To motivate and encourage European Heritage Label sites to participate in the European Heritage Days.

Priorities 

  • Priority 1: to carry out people-centred activities, with a focus on the inclusion of young people, to promote the participation, engagement and cooperation between audiences and the local community;
  • Priority 2: Focus on links between heritage, history and culture as well as on the promotion of cultural diversity: with emphasis on accessibility in its widest sense, in line with the texts adopted by the European Commission, the Council of Europe and UNESCO;
  • Priority 3: Harness new technologies to enable digital transformation of the site, to provide access for all or reach new and wider audiences or smaller communities, as well as to facilitate networking opportunities.
  • Priority 4: Contribute to accelerate the green transition by transforming places following the principles of sustainability, inclusion, aesthetics as well as through activities that promote biodiversity and sustainable cultural tourism.

Among financed activities

  • Multilevel collaborations: local, regional, national and international, cross-frontier, transnational initiatives;
  • Focus on links between heritage, history and culture as well as on the promotion of cultural diversity with emphasis on accessibility in its widest sense, in line with the texts adopted by the European Commission, the Council of Europe and UNESCO;
  • Exchange of ideas, best practices, goods, services and resources with different partners and stakeholders in European countries;
  • Vision of cultural heritage as a vector: a value and resource for trust-building, community engagement and sustainable responsible partnerships.

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals.
  • It is expected to fund around three projects.

Eligibility

  • Be European Heritage Label site designated under the European Union action for the European Heritage Label.
Financement
  • Amount of the grant: up to 14,500 euro
