Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To enhance coordination and sustainable resource management in the energy, water and agriculture sectors (nexus)
  • To enhance management of water and wastewater within Azraq Refugee Camp
  • To enhance circular economy practices within resource efficiency and solid waste management with links to local development

Priorities

  • Priority 1: To demonstrate the technical and economic feasibility of green economy/growth projects…
  • Priority 2: To contribute to full scale implementation of activities to induce behavioural changes and adoption of best available technologies and practices for green economy/growth and to foster investments…
  • Priority 3: To encourage demonstration and “full market” investments, supported by prior existing studies and audits
  • Priority 4: To demonstrate to the public that NEXUS (water-energy-food) and circular economy models as part of the environmentally friendly and decentralised solutions can create green economic development
  • Priority 5: To set good examples of how public administrations can help the public to understand and implement new and green behaviours and projects
  • Priority 6: To show how Public-Private Partnership (PPP) can be implemented for a wide range of project sizes
  • Priority 7: To promote cooperation between NGOs and Private/ Public sector, local authorities and academia around green economy initiatives

Among financed actions

  • Resources’ audits, Testing systems, Monitoring of green solutions performances,  Technical and economic studies, Training linked to O&M of the interventions, Awareness and Communication
  • Actions that are innovative in the local context; actions with a high degree of replicability; actions which stimulate the local economy and make the best use of locally available resources whether primary or secondary
  • Actions that have clear impact on vulnerable communities in Syrian refugees’ host communities and Syrian refugees’ camps with a sustainable socio-economic dimension

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
  • Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 30 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person and be non-profit-making or profit-making
  • Be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation, public sector operator, municipalities, Small and Medium Size Enterprises SMEs, international (inter-governmental) organisation as defined by Article 156 of the EU Financial Regulation
  • Be established in a Member State of the European Union or in Jordan

Financement
  • Total amount of the call: 5 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 1 and 1.250 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 80% and 90% of the total eligible costs of the action
