Priorities and funded actions

Objective

  • To enhance the protection of places of worship of all faiths

Priority

  • Improving cooperation between public authorities and faith-based leaders and congregations, including establishing clear communication channels and providing information about, and a better understanding of, security threats

Among financed actions 

  • Designing and implementing security awareness raising campaigns specifically targeting places of worship, preferably on an EU-wide basis, to make citizens more aware of threats, encourage them to report suspicious behaviour and promote an appropriate response to threats
  • Sharing of knowledge, tools and good practices on protective measures across different Member States
  • Development and implementation of security concepts, measures, programs and communication plans
  • Development and implementation of trainings and workshops

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
  • Initial duration of the action: 24 months

Eligibility

  • Be legal entities (public or private bodies)
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries
  • A consortium of at least 2 applicants (beneficiaries; not affiliated entities) from 2 different eligible countries
  • International organisations can not apply as coordinator
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 14.5 million euro
  • Budget of the topic “Places of worship”: 9.6 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 500,000 and 3 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: up to 90% of the total eligible costs
