Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To improve humane and effective delivery of justice for all, especially those living in marginalised and most vulnerable situations

Priorities

  • Priority 1: to improve access to justice for all, especially for the population living in the most vulnerable situations and women
  • Priority 2: to empower and strengthen local civil society organisations on the ground by supporting their efforts to improve access to justice for al

Among financed actions

  • Activities on providing legal aid services in places of detention across the country
  • Establishment of village mediation services in the districts
  • Train village mediators in referring cases to the appropriate justice institutions supported under the Chilungamo II (Access to Justice) Programme
  • Advocating for improved access to justice for people in vulnerable situations to the necessary duty bearers

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated
  • Initial duration of the action : between 36 and 48 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be non-profit-making
  • Be a civil society organization or an Association of CSOs
  • Be established in a Member State of the EU or eligible non EU Member States as  established in the Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument – Global Europe (NDICI)
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 4 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 3.5 and 4 million euro
  • Cofinancing rate: up to 95% of the total eligible costs
