Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • Lot 1: To increase Civil Society’s role in promoting a just transition to a climate-neutral, resource-efficient and circular economy (Circular Economy)
  • Lot 2: To increase Civil Society’s role to conserve, use sustainably, share equitably
    and restore biodiversity and ecosystems (Biodiversity)
  • Lot 3: To expand Civil Society and Media contribution to a democratic, transparent and accountable governance systems (MEDIA And ACCOUNTABILITY)

Priorities

  • Priority 1: To develop evidence-based knowledge; to raise awareness of citizens and relevant stakeholders; to support participation and contribution of civil society to decision-making process, policy analysis and policy dialogue
  • Priority 2: To strengthen civil society’s role to promote enabling policy and regulatory frameworks; to foster civil society, private sector and government partnerships at Federal, Provincial and at Local levels in ensuring policy coherence; to consolidate civil society role as actors for positive change and contribute to transparent communication, combating disinformation and shifting perceptions
  • Priority 3: : To develop or scale up innovative and effective practices

Among financed actions

Actions supporting the specific objectives : information or awareness raising campaigns, capacity building and trainings, reinforcement of services, lobbying and advocacy for improved laws, acts and regulations, policy dialogue, research and survey, policy advice, experience and knowledge sharing and mobilisation of experts, monitoring and reporting, networking and coalition building, multi actor partnership building, mentoring, etc.

Additional information

  • This is a call for proposals with direct award through negotiated procedure. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated.
  • Initial duration of the action: between 36 and 48 months

Eligibility

  • Actions must address one of the three lots only
  • Be a legal person officially registered at least three years before the call is launched
  • Be non-profit-making
  • Be a specific type of organisation such as: civil society organisation
  • Be established in Nepal, in a Member State of the European Union or in any countries eligible under the Financing Instrument for development cooperation for the period 2021-2027
  • Be allowed to implement activities in accordance with the Nepalese legal provisions
Financement
  • Total budget of the call:
    • Lot 1: 1.4 million euro
    • Lot 2: 1.4 million euro
    • Lot 3: 500,000 euro
  • Amount of the grants: between 300,000 and 1 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 51% and 95% of the total eligible costs of the action
