Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To complement the early wave of deployment actions for 5G systems deployment along transport paths for CAM including safety and non-safety services

Priorities

  • To start leveraging the needed private investment in order to establish a full pan-European road and railway network of 5G corridors by the end of the CEF programme (2027)

Amoung financed actions

  • Deployment of passive network elements including civil works, e.g. ducts, dark fibre, 5G radio stations, masts and pylons.
  • Deployment and installation of active network elements, e.g. antennae, storage and computing capabilities such as network controllers, routers, switches, exchanges, edge MEC/node etc.
  • Deployment and installation of specific track side devices (e.g. road, rail) for CAM use cases, such as sensors, cameras etc. for traffic monitoring purposes, including connected road-side units.
  • Preparatory works, including network planning.

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
  • Initital duration of the action: 36 months

Eligibility

  • Be legal entities (public or private bodies)
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries, i.e.
  • Other entities may participate in other consortium roles, such as associated partners, subcontractors, third parties giving in-kind contributions, etc.
  • A consortium composed of at least 2 entities, established in at least 2 different EU Member States or associated countries to the programme must be constituted
  • Exceptionally, for 5G corridors projects crossing the border with a third country or terminating at a port with maritime connections to other EU Member States, minimum 2 applicants (beneficiaries; not affiliated entities) from at least one eligible country
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 28 million euro
  • Total budget of the topic: 25 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 10 and 25 million euro
  • Co-financing rate:
    • Up to 70% for the costs of works in outermost regions
    • Up to 30% for all other costs categories
    • Up to 50% for projects with strong cross-border dimension
