Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To enable PCIs and PMIs to be implemented within the framework of the deployment of trans-European networks in the energy sector
  • To support energy infrastructure PCIs and PMIs that have significant socio-economic benefits
  • To ensure greater solidarity among Member States

Priorities

  • Priority 1: To support projects contributing to the achievement of the energy interconnection target of at least 10% by 2020 and 15% by 2030
  • Priority 2: To support projects contributing to synchronisation of electricity systems with the EU networks
  • Priority 3: To promote technologies and PCIs contributing to the decarbonisation of the economy

Among funded activities

  • CEF-E-2024-PCI-PMI-STUDIES: Studies contributing to the preparation of the implementation of a PCI or a PMI
  • CEF-E-2024-PCI-PMI-WORKS: Works contributing to the implementation of a PCI or a PMI

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a public or private entity
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries:
    • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories)
    • Non-EU states : listed EEA countries and countries associated to the Connecting Europe Facility Programme (Click here)

Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 850 million euro
  • Funding rate:
    • up to 50% for works and studies
    • up to 70% for works in outermost regions
    • up to 75% if the project provides a high degree or regional or EU wide security of supply
