Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To enhance the protection of places of worship of all faiths
  • To improve the protection of places of worship, schools and community gatherings visibly associated with the Jewish faith
  • To enhance the protection against and detection of CBRN threats for different types of public spaces and critical infrastructures
  • To support the Commission in fulfilling the objectives of the 2020-2025 EU Action Plan on firearms trafficking
  • To contribute to the creation of certification tools and trainings to enhance the capacities of detection dogs in the EU to detect explosives, firearms and precursors
  • To support the Commission in the implementation of the adopted counter-drone Communication

Among financed actions

  • Establishing or stepping up cooperation between public authorities and faith-based leaders and congregations
  • Designing and implementing security awareness raising campaigns  specifically targeting Jewish places of worship
  • Development of guidance materials on better protection against and detection of CBRN threats, for different types of public spaces and/or critical infrastructures
  • Organising meetings and workshops, conducting research studies with a special focus on 3D printed weapons, new technologies, the conversion of weapons under the scope of the Firearms Directive
  • Community-building and community-interaction with stakeholders in the counter-drone domain, through workshops, meetings, among others

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals.
  • Initial duration of the action: up to 36 months
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 30 million euro
  • Total budget of the topic:
    • Protection of Public Spaces: 25 million euro
    • Protection of Jewish places of worship, schools, and community gatherings: 5 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 500.000 and 3.000.000 euro except for the topic “Protection of Jewish places of worship, schools and community gatherings”, where the requested EU contribution must be between EUR 500.000 and 5.000.000 euro
  • Co-financing rate: up to 90% of the total eligible costs
