Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To catalyse the large-scale deployment of successful technical and policy-related solutions for implementing EU climate action legislation and policy
  • To contribute to the objectives and targets in the European Climate Law and the Union’s intermediate target of at least 55% net greenhouse gas emission reduction by 2030 compared to 1990 levels
  • To ensure continuous progress in enhancing adaptive capacity, strengthening resilience, and reducing vulnerability to climate change, in line with the EU Strategy on Adaptation to Climate Change
  • To support the development, implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of EU climate change legislation and policy contributing to mitigation and/or adaptation, notably by improving governance through capacity building for public and private actors and civil society involvement

Priorities

  • LIFE-2025-SAP-CLIMA-CCM
    • Recovery, recycling and reclamation of ozone-depleting substances in foams and suitability of alternatives to fluorinated greenhouse gases
    • To support the shift to zero-emission mobility in road transport
    • To decarbonise other transport modes, fostering intermodality and modal shift
    • To increase the generation and use of renewable energy and improvement of energy efficiency
    • To reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions in industrial production and waste management
    • To develop and implement land and coastal management practices
    • To develop industrial solutions for carbon removal, carbon capture and use and/or storage
  • LIFE-2025-SAP-CLIMA-CCA
    • To support the development of climate adaptation policies and the revision of national, regional or local climate adaptation strategies and plans
    • To implement the state-of-the art tools for climate risk assessment or selection of cost-effective adaptation measures for dealing with climate threats and solutions for adaptation
    • To develop and implement nature-based solutions for different types of areas (rural, urban and coastal)
    • To adaptat solutions for agriculture and forestry, water management, climate adaptation and health
  • LIFE-2025-SAP-CLIMA-GOV
    • To raise awareness, incentivising behavioural change and supporting the activities of the European Climate Pact
    • To implement climate mitigation and adaptation policies
    • To build capacity, raising awareness among end-users and the equipment distribution chain of fluorinated greenhouse gases
    • To develop geographically-explicit inventories for the LULUCF sector, creation of carbon removal registries and certification schemes and organisation of capacity building activities and advisory services

Among financed actions

  • Actions that develop, demonstrate, and promote innovative techniques/methods/approaches,
  • Actions that contribute to the knowledge base/best practices
  • Actions that support EU legislation/policy, and catalyse large-scale deployment of successful solutions

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a public or private entity
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries:
    • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories)
    • Non-EU states: listed EEA countries and countries associated to the LIFE Programme (Click here)
  • The coordinator must be established in an eligible country
  • A consortium is not required. An application can be submitted by a single entity established in an eligible country
