Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To support the large-scale and coordinated implementation of plans, strategies or actions required by EU legislation or policy in the fields of environment, climate or energy
  • To support the Prioritised Action Frameworks (PAF) and/or the national restoration plans for the SNaP
  • To support the implementation of plans related to circular economy, waste, water, air quality, noise, climate and energy under the SIP
  • To remove barriers to the full implementation of these plans
  • To mobilise additional funding to strengthen and complement the actions

Priorities

  • SNaPs Priorities :
    • To fully implement biodiversity and nature restoration plans (e.g., PAFs, National Restoration Plans)
    • To remove barriers and mobilize funding for large-scale biodiversity actions
  • SIPs Priorities :
    • To implement circular economy, waste, water, air quality, noise, climate, and energy plans
    • To support climate neutrality and resilience strategies at local, regional, and national levels
    • To remove obstacles and coordinate funding for full plan implementation

Among financed actions

  • Direct implementation of measures and objectives of the targeted plans/strategies
  • Development, testing, and demonstration of integrated approaches
  • Mobilization of complementary funding
  • Capacity building (training, structures)
  • Project management, replicability, and transferability of results
  • Stakeholder involvement
  • Land purchase (under strict conditions related to nature conservation, especially for Natura 2000)

Eligibility

  • Be a public or private entity
  • Be: a NGO, a company, a university, a research institution, a SME, an organisation…
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries:
    • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories)
    • Non-EU states: listed EEA countries and countries associated to the LIFE Programme (Click here)
  • A consortium composed of minimum 2 applicants must be constituted
