Germany’s 20 BN€ 2021-2027 partnership agreement adopted

On 19 April, the European Commission adopted the second partnership agreement on German cohesion policy for the multiannual financial framework 2021-2027, which allows for the investment of more than €20 billion in cohesion funds.

The partnership agreement with Germany lays the groundwork for the implementation of 52 operational programmes on the ground: 31 regional programmes, 2 national programmes and 19 INTERREG programmes.

The partnership agreement covers three cohesion policy funds, namely the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), the Just Transition Fund (FTJ), as well as the European Fund for Maritime Affairs, Fisheries and Aquaculture (Feampa).

The new partnership agreement also covers eligibility for the JTF and the implementation of its programmes in the regions most affected by climate change.
