LIFE – Circular Economy and Quality of Life – Standard Action Projects (SAP) – 2026

Objective

To facilitate the transition toward a sustainable, circular, energy-efficient and climate resilient economy, a toxic-free environment and toward protecting, restoring and improving the quality of the environment.

Priorities

• Priority 1: circular economy and waste
• Priority 2: zero pollution and sustainable management of natural ressources : air, water, soil, noise, chemicals, industrial emissions and safety, and a new European Bauhaus
• Priority 3: activities in support of public administrations’ decision-making and voluntary approaches for the public and the private sector
• Priority 4: environmental compliance assurance and access to justice
• Priority 5: behavioural change and awareness-raising initiatives
• Priority 6: enabling actions for the replication and upscaling of proven environmental solutions

Eligibility

• Be legal entities (public or private bodies)
• Be established in one of the eligible countries:
  • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories)
  • Non-EU states: listed EEA countries and countries associated to the LIFE Programme (list of participating countries)
• The coordinator must be established in an eligible country.
• Beneficiaries and affiliated entities must register in the Participant Register before submitting the proposal.

Additional information

• Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 120 months

Extensions are possible, if duly justified and through an amendment.

• Total budget of the call: 85.5 million euros
• Budget per topic:
  • LIFE-2026-SAP-ENV-ENVIRONMENT : 79 million euros
  • LIFE-2026-SAP-ENV-GOV : 6.5 million euros
• Amount of the grant: between 700.000 and 10.000.000 euros

The grant awarded may be lower than the amount requested.

• Funding rate: up to 60% of the total eligible costs
