  • Actions must take place in nine refugee camps along the Thai-Myanmar border and their host communities in Thailand.

Priorities and funded actions

Objective

  • To support Myanmar refugees in camps in Thailand along the border with Myanmar so that they can fully benefit from their rights in their host/resident societies

Priorities

  • Priority 1: To enhance resilience of refugees through the provision of basic services and awareness raising activities
  • Priority 2: To empower refugees through protection measures and by promoting their active involvement to improve camp governance
  • Priority 3: To enhance self-reliance of refugees in preparation for durable solutions, including their eventual voluntary return

Among financed actions

  • Actions to provide continued access to basic services for the refugees in the nine camps along the Thai-Myanmar border and their host communities
  • Actions to strengthen the livelihood skills of refugees to ensure their self-reliance and resilience to crises and leading to preparation for durable solutions including the eventual voluntary return of refugees
  • Cross-cutting activities to empower refugees, including those living in the most vulnerable situations, through protection measures and by promoting their active involvement to improve camp governance through sector-based interventions

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
  • Initial duration of the action: between 36 and 48 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person and be non-profit-making
  • Be a non-governmental organisation, or a civil society organisation (CSO), or international (inter-governmental) organisation as defined by Article 156 of the EU Financial Regulation
  • Be established in a Member State of the European Union or Thailand
  • Present a proof when submitting the grant application form  to the EU that the lead applicant has received an authorisation from the Ministry of Interior of Thailand to work in the nine refugee camps
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 10.5 million euro
  • Amount of the grant
    • Lot 1 “health and water, sanitation and hygiene”: 3 million euro
    • Lot 2 “education”: 3 million euro
    • Lot 3 ” livelihood”: 1.5 million euro
    • Lot 4 “protection”: 1.5 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: between 70% and 90% of the total eligible costs of the action
