Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To increase the interoperability of rail transport by deploying European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS)
  • To modernise transport infrastructure and to facilitate road traffic on the TEN-T network, including urban nodes
  • To modernise inland waterway transport infrastructure and facilitate the traffic, safety and transport management in the inland waterways of the TEN-T network
  • To modernise maritime transport infrastructure and facilitate maritime traffic on the TEN-T network
  • To modernise freight transport infrastructure on the TEN-T network
  • To increase the interoperability of the rail system in EU
  • To modernise air transport infrastructure on the TEN-T network
  • To modernise transport infrastructure on the Core and Comprehensive Networks of the TEN-T

Among financed actions

  • Synergies with 5G corridors deployment
  •  New technologies and innovative solutions for intelligent applications
  • Maritime transport, maritime port community systems, and relevant customs information systems
  • Deployment of telematics applications
  • TMA airspace optimisation, datalink infrastructure, retrofitting or forward fitting aircraft, surveillance security

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a public or private entity
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries:
    • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories)
    • Third countries associated to the CEF Programme (Click here)

Additional information

  • Initial duration of the action :
    • Between 4 and 5 years for mixed proposals
    • Between 2 and 3 years for study components

Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 640 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: no less than 1 million
  • Funding rate:
    • For all topics, except ERTMS and SESAR Other ATM Projects :
      • maximum 50% for the costs of studies (not applicable for the SESAR topics)
      • maximum 50% for the costs of works
      • maximum 70% for the costs of works in outermost regions (not applicable for the the RIS and REMIB topics)
    • For the SESAR topic related to Other ATM Projects: CEF-T-2024-SIMOBGENSESAR-OP-WORKS: between 30% et 70% of the total eligible costs
