Priorities and funded actions

Objective

  • To promote the development and/or the strengthening of the scientific knowledge needed to support the science-basis for fisheries conservation and management measures

Priorities

  • Priority 1: the reinforcement of policy-oriented fisheries science
  • Priority 2: the better use of the collected scientific data
  • Priority 3: the improved cooperation between scientists and the fisheries sector
  • Priority 4: the contribution in supporting the EU scientific community in developing and maintaining the relevant expertise to provide high quality scientific advice

Among financed actions

  • Collection and processing of samples and/or data in the field falling outside the scope of national data collection programmes
  • Harmonise and/or improve protocols of data collection, handling and management to serve the scientific advisory process
  • Trials
  • Meta-analysis, data validation and/or data preparation to feed into models
  • Developing new advice formats or frequencies

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals
  • Initial duration of the action: between 18 and 24 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a research centre, institute, university, foundation and scientific body primarily active in fisheries science or in marine science applied to fisheries management
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 2.6 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 400.000 and 600.000 euro
  • Co-financing rate: up to 80% of the total eligible costs
