Priorities and funded actions

Objective

To prepare the ground for concrete actions to mitigate the threat to human health and safety, the environment and to the development of sustainable blue economy posed by the presence of submerged munitions in the Baltic Sea.

Priorities

  • Priority 1: To gather and analyse existing, available date from all relevant sources and databases on submerged munitions, including identification of gaps in the data
  • Priority 2: To fill gaps, including by deploying systems at sea to collect and gather additional data that are needed for the establishment of priorities, including the use of cutting-edge technologies
  • Priority 3: To identify and propose a list of relevant factors for establishment of priority sites where submerge munitions should be adressed
  • Priority 4: To encourage data sharing and best practice shared among relevant entities in the Baltic Sea region dealing with the issue of submerged munitions
  • Priority 5: To raise awareness on the risks and impacts of submerge munitions dumped at sea

  • Co-financing rate: up to 80 % of the total eligible costs
