Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To promote excellence in teaching and research in the field of European Union studies worldwide and facilitate career development on EU studies for next generation
  • To foster dialogue between the academic world and society
  • To generate knowledge and insights in support of EU policymaking
  • To reach out to a wider public and spread knowledge about the EU to the wider society
  • To strive to function as a vector for public diplomacy towards third countries not associated to the Programme

Among financed actions

  • A Jean Monnet Module must be taught for a minimum of 40 teaching hours per academic year in the field of European Union studies
  • Group lectures, seminars and tutorials

Eligibility

  • Be a higher education institution (HEI)
  • Be established in an EU Member State, third country associated to the Programme or a third country not associated to the Programme
  • HEIs established in EU Member States and third countries associated to the Programme must be holders of the ECHE Certificate (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education)

Only applications by single applicants are allowed.

Additional information

  • Initial duration of the action: 36 months

Extensions are possible, if duly justified and through an amendment of the grant agreement.

  • Total budget of the call: 15 663 570 euros
  • Amount of the grant per topic :
    • Jean Monnet Modules: 35 000 euros
    • Jean Monnet Chairs: 60 000 euros
    • Jean Monnet Centres of Excellence: 100 000 euros
  • Funding rate: up to 75% of the total eligible costs

This grant is a lump sum grant.
