Priorities and funded actions

Objective

Award four grants to partner organisations to support EFSA for outputs related to the pest surveillance activities within the mission of the ESFA Plant Health Monitoring team.

Priorities

  • Lot 1: support EFSA  with the planning and preparation of risk-based surveys of pests species belonging to the Acleris spp. not know to occur in the Union territory
  • Lot 2: support EFSA with the planning and preparation of risk-based surveys of Cicadomorpha species known to be vectors of Xylella fastidiosa not known to occur in the Union territory
  • Lot 3: support EFSA with the planning and preparation of risk-based surveys of Viruses, viroids and phytoplasmas of  Cydonia Mill., Fragaria L., Malus Mill., Prunus L., Pyrus L., Ribes L., Rubus L. and
    Vitis L. not known to occur in the Union territory
  • Lot 4: support EFSA with the planning and preparation of risk-based surveys of Begomoviruses and their vector Bemisia tabaci

Among financed actions

  • Lots 1, 2 & 3:
    • Literature searches to collect and review the relevant information required for preparing and designing surveys
    • Grouping of taxa (crop, pest, detection methods, etc.) for preparing survey cards
    • Drafting the survey cards according to the agreed grouping of pests and following the EFSA template for pest survey cards
  • Lot 4:
    • Literature searches to collect and review the relevant information required for preparing and designing surveys
    • Provide a plan for the delivery of survey cards
    • Drafting the survey cards following the EFSA template for pest survey cards

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals.
  • Initial duration of the action: between 12 and 24 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a public or private entity
  • Be on the list of competent organisations designated by the Member States in accordance with Article 36 of Regulation (EC) 178/2002 and Commission Regulation (EC) 2230/2004
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 350,000 euro
  • Amount per lot:
    • EUBA-EFSA-PLANTS-2023-07-01: 50,000 euro
    • EUBA-EFSA-PLANTS-2023-07-02: 130,000 euro
    • EUBA-EFSA-PLANTS-2023-07-03: 90,000 euro
    • EUBA-EFSA-PLANTS-2023-07-04: 80,000 euro
