Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • EDF-2024-RA-SENS-ART: To mature the required technologies and concepts to cover the need for situational awareness by achieving advanced high performance and a highly integrated multifunction system that may support radar, electronic warfare and possibly communication functions, enabled through the development of AESA antennas
  • EDF-2024-RA-DIGIT-ASMEP: To develop and evaluate software systems for
    modelling structures from multisource imagery and other relevant available data, and for accurately predicting the effects of weapons on these structures
  • EDF-2024-RA-AIR-AAM: To prepare for the development of a missile that can counter future air threats on an economically viable basis
  • EDF-2024-RA-AIR-UCCAS-STEP: To explore technologies, concepts, products, processes and services related to Unmanned Collaborative Combat Aircraft systems in different possible configurations
  • EDF-2024-RA-GROUND-IWAS: To focus on the precision, the effectiveness and the affordability of ammunition and missiles in order to increase the capacity to neutralise adversary forces
  • EDF-2024-RA-PROTMOB-FMTC: To create a new medium tactical European aircraft that could provide a complementary capacity for tactical transport
  • EDF-2024-RA-UWW-SACOM-STEP: To permit the exchange of classified information in Maritim Uncrewed Systems, and to conduct further research to overcome the physical characteristics of the underwater environment that limits the possibility of having wireless communication systems
  • EDF-2024-RA-SIMTRAIN-BRG-STEP: To develop advanced automated support tools for the generation and evaluation of courses of action in an Multi-domain Operation environnement context

Among financed actions

  • Activities that aim to create, underpin and improve knowledge, products and technologies, including disruptive technologies, which can achieve significant effects in the area of defence (generating knowledge)
  • Activities that aim to increase interoperability and resilience, including secured production and exchange of data, to master critical defence technologies, to strengthen the security of supply or to enable the effective exploitation of results for defence products and technologies (integrating knowledge)
  • Studies, such as feasibility studies to explore the feasibility of new or upgraded products, technologies, processes, services and solutions
  • Design of a defence product, tangible or intangible component or technology as well as the definition of the technical specifications on which such a design has been developed, including any partial test for risk reduction in an industrial or representative environment

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a public or private entity
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries:
    • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories)
    • Non-EU states: listed EEA countries and countries associated to the EDF Programme (Click here)
  • Have its executive management structure established in an eligible country
  • Must not be subject to control by a non-associated third country or nonassociated third-country entity
  • A consortium composed of at least 3 entities, established in at least 3 different eligible countries must be constituted
