Internal Security Fund - The Internal Security Fund aims at ensuring a high level of security in the Union, in particular by: preventing and combating terrorism and radicalisation, serious and organised crime and cyber crime; assisting and protecting victims of crime; and preparing for, protecting against and effectively managing security related incidents, risks and crises.

Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To combat organised crime by dismantling criminal networks and their business models
  • To dismantle criminal networks, regardless of the specific crimes they are involved in

Priorities

  • Priority 1: Improving the intelligence picture on criminal networks
  • Priority 2: Facilitating cross border investigations
  • Priority 3: Facilitating financial investigations
  • Priority 4: Supporting crime prevention measures
  • Priority 5: Strenghthening capabilities to fight drug trafficking
  • Priority 6: Strenghthening the fight against trafficking in human beings

Among financed actions

  • Analytical, monitoring and evaluation activities, including threat, risk and impact assessments
  • Developping measures, tools and methodologies aimed at improving prosecution and criminal judicial proceedings, including the setting-up of networks of specialised prosecutors, for exchanging information and best practices, training to judicial authorities; elaboration of material, such as analysis papers or guidelines, aimed at supporting the work of judicial authorities
  • Activities promoting networking, public-private partnerships, mutual confidence, understanding and learning, identification and dissemination of best practices and innovative approaches at Union level, training and exchange programmes
  • Activities supporting the development of methodological, notably statistical, tools and methods and common indicators
  • Prevention and awareness raising activities, including communication campaigns

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals.
  • Initial duration of the action: 24 months
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 20 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 1 million and 3 million euro
  • Co-financing rate: up to 90% of the total eligible costs
