Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To determine, through analytical work and targeted pilot activities in non-operational settings, how private-sector situational data relevant to submarine-cable security could support the functioning of Regional Cable Hubs.

Among financed actions

  • Mapping the landscape of situational data
  • Assessment of the feasibility of accessing and integrating such data
  • Analysis of interoperability and data fusion challenges
  • Assessment of the quality and limitations of situational awareness
  • Design and carrying out of pilot or proof-of-concept demonstrations
  • Production of a consolidated assessment of feasible partnership models

Eligibility

  • Be a legal entity (public or private body)
  • Not be directly or indirectly controlled by a country that is not an eligible country (all entities must submit a declaration on ownership and control)
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries:
    • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories (OCTs))
    • Non-EU States: EEA countries (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein)
  • Beneficiaries and affiliated entities must register in the Participant Register before submitting the proposal.
  • A consortium composed of at least 2 Member States, represented by competent public authorities such as ministries, agencies or other public entities responsible for cable security, maritime security, resilience, or the protection of critical infrastructure, must be constituted

  • Initial duration of the action: 18 months

Other durations are not excluded. Extensions are possible, if duly justified and through an amendment.
