An instrument to support the policy and objectives of the Union by mobilising public and private investment within the EU, thereby addressing market and investment failures that hamper the achievement of the EU’s objectives of sustainability, competitiveness and inclusive growth.
Priorities and funded actions
As a single investment scheme for the Union’s internal policies, the InvestEU programme is both one and an implementation tool. InvestEU will be composed of the InvestEU Fund, the InvestEU Advisory Centre and the InvestEU portal.
Objectives
- Provide finance to economic actors with a risk profile that private financiers are not always able or willing to address in order to promote the competitiveness of the EU economy, sustainable growth, social resilience and inclusion and the integration of EU capital markets in line with EU policy objectives in different sectors
- In order to diversify sources of finance and promote sustainable and long-term financing, the InvestEU programme will contribute to the integration of European capital markets, in the framework of the Capital Market Union, and to the strengthening of the single market.
- Improving the competitiveness of the Union, including innovation and digitisation, the sustainability of the Union’s economy and its growth, the social resilience and openness of the Union, the integration of the Union’s capital markets and the strengthening of the single market, including solutions to address the fragmentation of the Union’s capital markets, diversifying the sources of finance for Union companies and promoting sustainable financing.
