Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To promote competitiveness, scalability, cooperation, innovation and sustainability, through mobility in the European audiovisual sector
  • To nurture talents, competence and skills and to stimulate cross-border cooperation, mobility and innovation in the creation and production of European audiovisual works

Priorities

  • Priority 1: production of innovative and quality TV content and serial storytelling, addressing diverse audiences
  • Priority 2: to increase the capacity of audiovisual producers to develop and produce strong projects with significant potential
  • Priority 3 :  to strengthen the independence of producers in relation to broadcasters and digital platforms

Among financed actions

  • The TV and online content action supports works : animation, documentary and drama films
  • Cooperation between operators
  • High creative/artistic value
  • Innovative aspects in terms of the content and the financing that show a clear link with the envisaged distribution strategies

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a public or private entity
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries, i.e.:
    • Creative Europe Participating Countries:
      • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories (OCTs))
      •  non-EU countries:
  • Be established in one of the countries participating fully in the MEDIA strand of the Creative Europe Programme and owned directly or indirectly, wholly or by majority participation, by nationals from such countries.
  • Be independent European audiovisual production companies

Applications by single applicants are allowed (single beneficiaries; affiliated entities are allowed, if needed), as well as proposals submitted by a consortium of at least 2 applicants

Additional information

  • Initial duration of the action: up to 36 months

Extensions are possible, if duly justified and through an amendment.

  • Total budget of the call: 22 million euros
  • Budget per topic:
    • Topic 1 : 5.5 million euros
    • Topic 2 : 1 760 000 million euros
    • Topic 3 : 14 740 million euros
  • Amount of the grant: between 70 000 and 2 million euros

This grant is a lump sum grant.
