Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To develop, demonstrate and promote innovative techniques, methods and approaches
  • To contribute to the knowledge base and to the application of best practice
  • To support the development, implementation, monitoring and enforcement of the EU legislation and policy, including by improving governance at all levels, in particular through enhancing capacities of public and private actors and the involvement of civil society
  • To catalyse the large-scale deployment of successful technical and policy related solutions for implementing the EU legislation and policy by replicating results, integrating related objectives into other policies and into public and private sector practices, mobilising investment and improving access to finance

  • Priority 2: Nature Governance
    • Sub-priority 1: To promote effective public participation and access to justice in nature and biodiversity policy and legislation-related matters amongst the public, NGOs, lawyers, the judiciary, public administrations
    • Sub-priority 2: To establish new or to enhance existing cross-border, national or regional networks of compliance assurance practitioners or expert
    • Sub-priority 3: To establish or to improve  professional qualifications and training to improve public participation, access to justice and compliance with binding EU legal instruments on nature and biodiversity, through promoting, checking and enforcing compliance
    • Sub-priority 4: To develop and implement strategies and policies and/or developing and using innovative tools and actions to promote, monitor and enforce compliance with binding EU instruments on nature and biodiversity, including use of administrative law, criminal law and environmental liability

Among financed actions

Promoting good practices, supporting implementation, organising trainings, educational, academic programmes, etc. to ensure effective compliance assurance, public participation and access to justice in nature and biodiversity policy and legislation-related matters amongst the public.

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a public or private entity
  • Be a non-profit making entity
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries:
    • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories)
    • Non-EU states : listed EEA countries and countries associated to the LIFE Programme (Click here)
  • The coordinator must be established in an eligible country
