Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To strengthen local civil society Organisations’ (CSOs) engagement as actors of good governance and development at country level
  • To strengthen capacities of local CSOs’ to engage in policy dialogue at national level and in dialogue, implementation and programmes
  • To improve capacity and ability of local civil society partners to uphold and promote an enabling environment in respective partner country
  • To strengthen capacity of local CSOs to engage in gender equality and youth inclusion and strengthen capacity of local women’s and youth partner CSOs

Priorities

  • Priority 1 – Social Protection, with a focus on including persons with Disabilities
  • Priority 2 – Gender equality and youth, women’s and girl’s empowerment
  • Priority 3 – Historical and cultural preservation through digital methods
  • Priority 4 – Green and sustainable development and job creation (Agriculture, Environment and Textile)

Among financed actions

  • To strengthen civil society capacity (i.e. institutional and operational capacities in the areas of governance; accountability; program, project, and financial management; research and analysis, advocacy; sector-specific capacity building; access to funding) to enable them to function as independent actors of good governance and development
  • To enable an operating environment for CSOs in Eritrea
  • To build/strengthen local international and regional networks of CSOs

Additional information

  • This call for proposals is a restricted call for proposals. In first instance, only concept notes will be evaluated.
  • Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 48 months

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be non-profit-making entity
  • Be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation
Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 2.706 million euro
  • Amount of the grant: between 300 000 and 900 000 euro
  • Co-financing rate: up to 90% of the total eligible costs
