European Commission has communicated the names of new Mission Boards experts for 2021-2025

On September 6th, the Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel, presented the 75 new experts on the Mission Boards. These Mission Boards are an important instrument of the Horizon Europe programme.

Each Mission Board is composed of 15 experts including a Chair, which aim to raise awareness among European citizens to promote the Missions carried out by the EU, as well as to advise the various actors on the implementation plans of the Missions and their actions. The new Mission Boards can also build on the old work of the previous Mission Boards (phase 2019-2021).

More than 1,100 applications were submitted for only 75 selected, including five French experts. This selection process makes it possible to choose experts who respect criteria of independence, high-level on the themes of public service and citizen engagement. The selection phase also ensured the diversity of profiles (business, public administration, science, culture, citizen engagement, civil society organizations).

These new Mission Board experts will be presented on September 28th and 29th at the European Research and Innovation Days.
