The Innovative and networks executive agency (INEA) has signed grant agreements for the funding of 15 selected projects under the Horizon 2020 Low-Carbon energy calls. They will receive a total of €70 million.
The successful projects will demonstrate innovative solutions in the spheres of renewable energy sources and technologies. They will also help develop integrated local energy systems (energy islands) and decarbonise energy systems of geographical islands.
Most of the funding – €57.5 million – will go to 12 projects selected under the “Renewable energy system integrated at the building scale” and “Developing solutions to reduce the cost and increase performance of renewable technologies” calls.
The remaining amount will go to three projects of the reserve list under the “Integrated local energy systems (Energy islands)” and “Decarbonising energy systems of geographical Islands” calls.
All projects will start their activities by 1st of May 2019.
