CEF – CEF 2 Transport – Projects on the Core Network – General envelope – 2026

Objectives

• To develop rail transport infrastructure projects on the TEN-T core network
• To develop inland waterway transport infrastructure projects on the TEN-T core network

Priority

Priority will be given to projects fostering the development of high-speed rail in line with the Commission communication on high-speed rail.

Among financed actions

• Construction/upgrading of cross-border and missing links
• Interconnections between rail and other modes of transport, namely inland waterway and maritime transport
• Upgrade of waterways and related infrastructure
• Creation of new waterways and related infrastructure

Eligibility

• Be legal entities (public or private bodies)
• Be established in one of the eligible countries:
  • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories)
  • Countries associated to the CEF Programme (list of participating countries)
• Beneficiaries and affiliated entities must register in the Participant Register before submitting the proposal

• Total budget of the call: 350 million euros
• Amount of the grant: between 1.000.000 and 100.000.000 euros

The grant awarded may be lower than the amount requested.

• Funding rate: between maximum 30% and 70% of the total eligible costs
