CEF – Submarine Cable Repair Capacities – 2026

Objectives

• To enhance emergency response capacities and the resilience of backbone networks’ infrastructures by supporting the development and deployment of adaptable repair modules for swift emergency repair operations
• To develop adaptable repair modules that can be deployed on existing vessels, as well as the necessary related operational capabilities

Priority

This call funds modular equipment for the repair of telecom submarine cables, and targets public entities with an emergency response mandate.

Among financed actions

• Design, construction and purchase of repair modules
• Preparatory works necessary for the operation of the modules

Eligibility

• Be legal entities (public or publicly owned bodies)
• Be established in one of the eligible countries:
  • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories)
• Beneficiaries and affiliated entities must register in the Participant Register before submitting the proposal.

Additional information

• Initial duration of the action: 24 months

Extensions are possible, if duly justified and through an amendment.
